EUROPE YOUTH TOUR JUN/JUL 2011

Fri 24 Jun: Bon voyage! We depart from Cape Town International Airport to Dubai at 18:10 on flight EK 771.

Sat 25 Jun - London: We arrive at 11:15 in London. We do a city tour immediately after arrival. We visit Windsor Castle, London Museum and St Paul's Cathedral. We will also see other important sites from the outside.

Sun 26 Jun - London: Today we visit some important sites and entrance is included in the tour price. The Royal Mews where we find the Queen's Transport, The Tower of London, Tower Bridge, The Royal Albert Memorial and Kensington Palace are included.

Mon 27 Jun - London - Ferry - Amsterdam: London is yours for today! Maybe I should say almost the whole day. Madam Tussauds is included in the tour in the morning. After that you are free to visit Westminster Abbey, Harrods, Piccadilly, Carnaby Street... You will have to move to see everything. You will get an underground pass for the train. If you choose, you can go on a tour with your tour leader.

At 20:00 we will depart by train to Harwich from where we shall depart by overnight ferry to The Hook of Holland. Your cabins have ensuite facilities. We arrive early morning in Amsterdam

 

Tues 28 Jun - Amsterdam: Gaat u naar die Kaasfabriek? O ja! Today we visit the cheese and clog factories. Then we visit Vollendam with its traditional Dutch surroundings. This afternoon we visit the famous Rijksmuseum where the paintings of Rembrandt are on exhibition. Tonight we end the day with a walk through the red light district.

 

Wed 29 Jun - Amsterdam: Amsterdam is a big city and you will be free for the most of the day to explore this unique city. However the tour leaders will be available for those who want a more organised day.

Thurs 30 Jun - Amsterdam - Paris: Vive le France! This morning we say goodbye to Amsterdam and travel by luxury coach to Paris. Tonight we take part in a city tour through Paris. We go to world famous sights such as Notre Dame, Gustav Eiffels tower, the Seine River and much more.

Friday 1 Jul - Paris: Et aujourd’hui. Bonjour paris! Today you do not have to go with your tour leader. If you are adventurous, you can explore Paris on your own. If you do choose to stay with me, you will visit the highlights of Paris. Included: Entrance to Notre Dame, Versailles and the Louvre. Budget 11 Euro if you want to go up the Eiffel Tower and 5 Euro for transport in the city.

Sat 2 Jul - Paris: Today you are free to explore Paris on your own. A visit to the Palace of Versailles is included, but for most of the day you will be at leisure. Tonight we end our stay in the city of light with a picnic Dinner at the Eiffel Tower.

Sun 3 Jul- Paris - Lucerne: Au Revoir, Paris! We travel by coach from Paris to Switzerland and Lucerne.

Mon 4 Jul - Lucerne: Today we visit Pilatus (optional). This afternoon you are free to find out if Swiss chocolate is as great as everyone says.
The mountains and lakes around Lucerne remain breathtakingly beautiful right through the year. Due to global warming, very little snow is visible in the summer.

Tues 5 Jul Lucerne - Nice: We travel through the famous lakes district of Italy to Genoa and from there to Nice.

We travel trough the world's longest road tunnel, the St. Gothard Tunnel, and then along the Italian and French riveira on what is arguably the world's most beautiful route. We will drive through more then 200 tunnels and we cross as many bridges. We overnight in the Etap Hotel very near one of the most beautiful beaches.

Wed 6 Jul and Thurs 7 Jul - Nice: The beaches of Nice are well-known as the playground of the rich and famous. The water of the mediteranean is pleasant and the scenery breathtakingly beautiful. You will be free to relax on the beaches with very few restrictions. The students share a room and no meals are included in Nice.

Fri 8 Jul - Nice, Monaco, Pisa en Florence: Today our entire tour will change from a bus tour to a train tour. You will travel much faster and will be able to sleep during the day. We depart

The trains however tends to influence the group dynamics slightly negatively.

Our first stop will be Monaco where we will see the famous Formule 1 racing circle and where we will experience how the richest people of this world live. We depart from Monaco at 11h00 and from Ventimaglia at 11:50 onboard Train 11285 tp Pisa.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa introduces us to Tuscany, land of Pizza. We then travel to Florence, the world's city of art.

Sat 9 Jul - Florence: Even if you are not interested in art you will be interested in Florence. You are free to explore the city on your own. Included is the Uffizi and the Akademi.

The day in Florence is one of the most relaxed on the tour.

Our accommodation in Florence is one of the most popular and definitely the most beautiful on the tour. Ostella Villa Camerata is on a hill and the building alone is a work of art.

Sun 10 and Mon 11 Jul - Florence to Venice: We depart at 13:36 from Firenze Main Station and arive at 16:37 in Venice onboard Train IC 704,Our campsite is a paradise for young people. At night it becomes a heaven for all fun-loving people with live music and dancing.

We travel to the city centre by Vaporetto or watertaxi and do a city tour on foot of Venice. O sole mio - a romantic gondola trip is optional.

Tues 12 Jul and Wed 13 Jul - Venice to Napels: We travel to the antique city of Rome. Our train IC703 depart at 09:20 and arive in Rome at 15:16. We will sleep here for three nights. Rome is a big city with many sights. We do a city tour. The rest of the time you are free to explore all the antiquities and wonders on your own.

Even though Rome on her own is exquisite, it is the campsite that causes the most excitement.

There is a club and entertainment that is enjoyed by all. On this tour you will have a lot of freedom and it is in places like Rome where you will realize this. It is important that you understand that you should keep within boundaries. These boundaries are clearly described on the entrance form and we will not allow you to disobey them. It is unfortunate that the entertainment in Rome sometimes leads to friction with the tour leader.

Thurs 8 Jul - Rome: Our last day in Europe. We take leave of Europe with a visit to the Collosseum, Piasa Novona and the Vatican. You are free to explore Rome on your own.

Fri 9 Jul - Rome to Dubai: This morning you have some time to finish off your last minute shopping. We depart at 17:45 on board flight EK096 to Dubai and we arrive at 01:15.

Sat 10 Jul - Dubai to Cpt: At 08:35 we depart from Dubai with flight EK770 and arrive in Cape Town at 16:25. Here we say a final goodbye to new friends and the holiday of a lifetime.
