PRICE & REQUIREMENTS FOR JUN/JUL TOUR 2012 |
Tour Cost
The tour price is R29 580.00 from Cape Town to Johannesburg. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY TO AVOID ANY UNEXPECTED SURPRISES.
You can only pay by cheque, cash or internet payment. Unfortunately we do not except Credit Cards. The price is subject to an exchange rate of R10.00 against the Euro. If the exchange rate or air ticket cost should change by more than 3% the price will change. The final price will be calculated on 1 May 2012.
How do we calculate the final cost?
We subtract R8000 from the total cost for the air ticket and administrative costs = R21580
The R21580 will be divided by the original exchange rate. R21 580 ÷ 10 = Euro2158. This is the cost in Euro for the tour.
The Euro 2185 will be multiplied by the buying exchange rate of the day eg. 2155 x 11 = R23705. After that we add the R8000. If the exchange rate drops to R11 the tour price will increase to R31705. If the exchange rate improves, the tour price will become cheaper.
What is included in the tour price:
- Economic class return air tickets from Cape Town.
- All train transport as on the programme.
- All sights, city tours and activities as on the programme.
- Accommodation in a hostel in London, and accomodation in chalets and youth hostels on the continent of Europe. (Note: We will sometimes be 4 or even 6 people in a room.)
- Breakfast and dinner throughout the tour except in Nice and on the last morning in Rome.
(Note: Luggage may weigh 13kg on departure and 19kg when coming back. Additional luggage costs R200 per kg. The airline does allow 20kg, but we need the rest of the space for our equipment.)
What is excluded from the tour price:
- Visas and Passports. We will help you with the visas. You will pay about 80 Euro + 60 Pound for visas.
- Lunch.
- Tours that are not included in the programme. Museum fees and entrance fees.
- Pocket Money - R6000 should be enough.
- Insurance +- R600.
- Airport Tax. In 2008 this was already more than R4000. In 2009 is was near R550, in 2010 in jump back to R3500 and in 2011 it was only R700
- Lunch.
- Dinner and breakfast in Nice on the ship and breakfast on the last morning in Rome.
Character of the tour:

There is a lot of free time.

Accommodation is not luxurious. Sometimes six people sleep in one room. Bathrooms are not in the rooms and European campsites are not as clean as South African campsites.

Sometimes we expect you to help with dishes and other small tasks.

You will be treated like an adult, but the rules of the tour will be strictly adhered to. If you are not prepared to stick to the rules as stated in the agreement, please don't send us an application form.

This tour is not a drinker's tour and we abide by Christian norms and values.

There are compulsory outings.
