EUROPE YOUTH TOUR JUN/JUL 2012Please note. There are two identical tours. The second tour is full but a few seats on the first tour are available. This tour has been in great demand since 1994. This will also most definitely be the case in 2012. There will be two identical but smaller tours in in 2012. In 2012 the tour leaders will be younger but Andries Erwee will still be with both groups for eight nights. We are going to stay over in the some places for longer periods of time. We will stay in Nice, Paris and Rome for three nights. We missed our coach to such an extend in 2011 that we will brought it back for the entire tour. The 2011 group all agree that this is much more comfortable. However you will still experience the underground train and the yourney from London to Harwich harbour weill still be by train. This will allow you to experience how the locals travel. The very popular overnight boat cruise from England to The Netherlands will become a permanent feature of this tour. The three night visit to Nice was very popular in 2010 and it will therefore remain on the itinerary. The culture of the tour will not change. The accommodation is mostly in campsites and we take part in camp activities. We sleep in youth hostels or chalets. The popularity of the tour is partly because of this tradition. We pitch a kitchen tent and it will be expected of you all to assist with some small tasks. Our full-time cook does most of the work. There is usually a club or entertainment centre at the campsite. Even though we enjoy these facilities they are not a priority on the tour. We join in if we can, but it will not influence the tour programme in any way. Even though this is not a church tour, Christian norms are an important factor on the tour. You must be responsible in utilising your free time, and you are also requested to rest responsibly. If you do not accept that there will be some compulsory outings, the tour is definitely not for you. It is our policy to treat you as an adult as long as you allow us to do so. You will experience this from day one by the large amount of free time you will have and by the loads of humour on tour. We do know that parents expect us to be responsible and we will do everything in our power to keep up with their expectations. There will be basic rules. If you are not prepared to stick to these rules we request that you rather stay at home. Behaviour that will cause discomfort for yourselves and others will not be tolerated. The tour is popular because people from previous tours tell their friends about the tour. Unfortunately this may also lead to certain misconceptions. Some people come on the tour with the idea they can just drink and shop. This is not my idea for any tour and 2010 will be no exception. If you are focused on luxury, this tour is also not for you. If you are prepared to learn and abide by the rules of the tour, I look forward to receiving your application form. For those that are in Gr.10-12 (15-18 years old) and want to take part in an affordable tour to Europe, this tour will be a highlight. The value of the tour is that students learn to live in a Global Village and reach for success. This goal cannot be obtained by rushing from one place to the next. We reach educational goals by allowing students to explore Europe on their own. To do this it is important to stay in one place for a longer time span. This is why we spend at least 2 nights in each place. Education is our passion. We have received international recognition for our techniques. Our education methods are "hidden" - you will learn without even knowing it. You will probably just enjoy the tour. We are committed to making this tour one of the best experiences you can imagine. |
